اليوم الوطني للذاكرة بتاريخ 8 ماي من كل سنة، تخليدا لشهداء المجازر التي اقترفها المستعمر الفرنسي البغيض سنة 1945 في حق الشعب الجزائري، إذ سقط خمسة وأربعين ألفا من الجزائريات والجزائريين، لا سيما في كل من سطيف، خراطة وقالمة. ذنبهم هؤلاء أنهم خرجوا للاحتفال بانتصار الحلفاء، على النازية، في الحرب العالمية الثانية، املين في تحقيق حلم الاستقلال.

Celebration of National Day of Memory
Algeria celebrates the National Day of Memory on May 8 of each year, in remembrance of the martyrs of the massacres perpetrated by the hateful French colonialism in 1945 against the Algerian people. At that painful occasion forty-five thousand Algerian women and men fell, especially in Setif, Kharta and Guelma. Their fault is that they organized demonstrations` to celebrate the victory of the Allies over Nazism in World War II, hoping to realize the dream of independence.
